Mariam Jaafar in debate on securing Singaporeans’ jobs and livelihoods, and foreign talent policy

Keep investing in Singaporeans so that they can be globally competitive, as this is the best way to achieve a balance between remaining open and protecting jobs, said MP Mariam Jaafar. Speaking in Parliament on Tuesday (Sep 14), she noted that the Government has made significant investments in the Singaporean core and there is reason to be optimistic about the outcomes. She urged the Government and employers to do more to empower Singaporeans to take ownership of reskilling and career development.
