Murali Pillai on Constitution of the Republic of Singapore (Amendment) Bill and Judicial Service (Miscellaneous Amendments) Bill

With the restructuring of the Legal Service to create a separate Judicial Service, Singapore must ensure that the reconstituted Legal Service Commission continues to attract and retain its fair share of top talent with the right set of values, said MP Murali Pillai. He told Parliament on Wednesday (Nov 3) that Legal Service Officers provide legal advice to the Government and help to uphold the rule of law. He asked what plans there are to hasten the pace of specialisation for them.
