NDR 2026: Semakau, Bukom, other smaller islands to be merged; Pulau Brani & Sentosa to be connected
Several of Singapore’s smaller islands - including Semakau, Bukom, Pulau Sudong - will be merged into one larger island that can support a new generation of industries. Speaking at the National Day Rally on Sunday (Aug 23), Prime Minister Lawrence Wong said this new Western island can help shape Singapore for the next 50 years and beyond. Mr Wong also announced plans to develop new attractions and experiences in Pulau Brani once port operations move out. Some land will be reclaimed to better connect Brani and Sentosa to form one integrated destination.
