Ng Ling Ling on Social Residential Homes Bill
Social residential homes house some of the most vulnerable Singaporeans and a strong legislative framework to safeguard them is extremely important and necessary, said MP Ng Ling Ling. Speaking in parliament on Tuesday (Apr 8), she highlighted the need to provide longer-term support in the form of a more committed multi-year capability fund. She also urged the government to consider the facilitation of better use of public funds to help social service agencies. These include bulk procurement for commercial equipment like CCTV systems which can be very costly if each home procures on its own.
