Mr Dar earlier met Mr Liu Jianchao — head of the Chinese Communist Party's International Department — who reaffirmed China's strong support for Pakistan's sovereignty and integrity. Beijing is one of Islamabad's closest partners, offering financial lifelines and supplying arms. Hira Mustafa reports from Islamabad and Deborah Wong reports from Hong Kong.
