PSP to field fewer candidates than the 24 it fielded in GE2020
The Progress Singapore Party says it plans to contest West Coast-Jurong West GRC and Chua Chu Kang GRC. In total, there will be fewer candidates, compared to its first showing in 2020. Back then, PSP put up 24 candidates for election, the most among opposition parties. Party chief Leong Mun Wai says the party learnt it needed to be more focused. He was speaking at the launch of the party's election manifesto, alongside chairman Tan Cheng Bock and first vice-hairperson Hazel Poa. The document sets out over 60 policy ideas on issues like cost of living, jobs, housing, and education. Most have been raised by Mr Leong and Ms Poa during their term as non-constituency members of parliament. When asked, Mr Leong and Dr Tan say the topic of US tariffs has been overblown. Claudia Lim reports.
