Saktiandi Supaat in debate on securing Singaporeans’ jobs and livelihoods, and foreign talent policy
A recent tightening of foreign manpower restrictions and the impending enshrining of anti-discrimination laws may help to ease some of the job anxieties experienced by Singaporean PMETs in sectors where foreign talent is perceived to be a threat, said MP Saktiandi Supaat in Parliament on Tuesday (Sep 14). He also urged the Government to take the opportunity created by the COVID-19 pandemic to enhance the Capability Transfer Programme, under which locals learn from more experienced or skilled foreign colleagues.
