Shahira Abdullah on Courts (Civil and Criminal Justice) Reform Bill
The Courts (Civil and Criminal Justice) Reform Bill aims to make legal services more accessible for everyone, especially in the midst of a pandemic, said NMP Shahira Abdullah in Parliament on Monday (Sep 13). She said the amendments will also allow for expert witnesses from other countries to provide testimony, making litigation more efficient and cost-effective. She raised concerns with remote court hearings and asked if educational campaigns would be held to notify the public of the substantial change in contempt laws.
