Sharael Taha on Online Safety (Relief and Accountability) Bill
Singapore’s online space must be a place of opportunity, not harm. The Online Safety (Relief and Accountability) Bill will help ensure that victims of online harm can get swift, effective relief while reinforcing the responsibilities of platforms and perpetrators, said MP Sharael Taha. In parliament on Wednesday (Nov 5), he asked how the threshold of online harassment will be determined, whether more proactive support for victims can be coordinated by the Online Safety Commission and what will be done to guard against creating a more litigious society.
