As Singapore moves to a future of clean energy, MP Shawn Huang asked how the Energy Market Authority is planning for the transition. In being empowered to build, own and operate energy infrastructure, how will it ensure economies of scale and synergies to benefit the overall industry? Mr Huang also asked about the possibilities of hydrogen or nuclear energy to meet Singapore’s future needs. He said authorities must “see past the hype” of alternative energy sources and be clear-eyed about challenges such as engineering limitations in implementation.
