02:28 Min

Law and Home Affairs Minister K Shanmugam said the government is working to tackle the rising abuse of new psychoactive substances (NPS) within Singapore. In a radio interview with CNA938, he said while NPS are chemically different from traditional drugs, they still inflict the same harm on abusers and their loved ones. Between 2014 and 2017, 11 people in Singapore were caught abusing NPS. That number jumped to an average of 235 abusers per year over the next four-year period.
