Condo owners hope potential reforms will help them see en bloc success

Private property owners who have repeatedly failed in en bloc attempts are hoping potential reforms will help them see success. Their wish list includes lowering the threshold of owners needed to agree to collective sale, especially for older and larger developments. The Law Ministry said proposals for reform will be announced when they are ready. Real estate agency Huttons noted that there were only four en bloc sales in 2024, compared to 36 in 2018.
