Two men were given a public spiritedness award by the Singapore Police Force for helping to disarm the man who stabbed a Catholic priest during mass at St Joseph's Church in Upper Bukit Timah.
The assailant had attacked Father Christopher Lee on Saturday evening (Nov 9). Police have said they do not suspect this is an act of terrorism, nor is there evidence that it is religiously motivated.
The police showed off five weapons seized from the suspect in a news conference in the wee hours of Sunday, including a foldable knife used in the attack.
The man will be charged on Nov 11 for voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapon.
