A proposed Maintenance Enforcement Process (MEP) will facilitate more sustainable maintenance outcomes for divorcing parties, allowing parents to both do their part in co-parenting their children and move on from the split. For those who genuinely cannot pay maintenance, as well as those who face difficulties due to non-payment, the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) will now be able to provide financial assistance in a more timely manner, where appropriate. Minister of State for Home Affairs and Social and Family Development Sun Xueling said this in Parliament on Monday (May 8) when she shared MSF’s perspective on the Family Justice Reform Bill.
