At least two people in Taiwan have died and more than a hundred are injured, after Typhoon Krathon made landfall earlier today. The slow-moving storm had been lashing the island with strong winds and heavy rains for days, before it slammed earlier into the port city of Kaohsiung as a category 1 typhoon. Offices, financial markets and schools stayed shut for a second day. Krathon has been called an unusual phenomenon for Taiwan. The storm is expected to weaken further in the coming days.
