Tan Kiat How on NLB halting access to Udemy Business

06:41 Min

The National Library Board (NLB) decided not to award a new contract to the e-learning platform Udemy Business after the current one expires on Dec 15 for several reasons, Senior Minister of State for Communications and Information Tan Kiat How told Parliament on Wednesday (Nov 22). He said the new licensing model is “several times” the price of the existing one. It also covers a much smaller number of courses and limits the number of users who can access them. Mr Tan said NLB is looking into alternatives and expects to start offering them in the coming months. Meanwhile, users who are still keen on courses offered by Udemy Business will be able to use their SkillsFuture Credits to pay by claiming reimbursement after completing the courses.
