Trump administration says hostilities in Iran 'terminated' as 60-day war powers deadline approaches
The US administration said the current ceasefire has "terminated" hostilities in Iran under Washington's war powers law, amid a debate on whether Congress needs to approve an extension of military operations in Iran. The 1973 War Powers Resolution allows the president 60 days to conduct military action. After that, the president must stop, seek approval or request a 30-day extension from Congress. Meanwhile, Tehran has activated air defences and warned of a "long and painful" response if there are new strikes from Washington. Toni Waterman reports from Washington DC.
