US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth met Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong and defence minister Chan Chun Sing on Friday (May 30) and affirmed the strong ties between the two countries. Mr Hegseth arrived in Singapore on Thursday ahead of the Shangri-La Dialogue defence summit, where he is expected to talk about America's vision for the Indo-Pacific region and how the Trump administration views the threat of China's military modernisation.
