US negotiators head to New Delhi, rekindling hopes of trade deal
Hopes that India and the US could soon reach a trade deal. US Deputy Trade Representative Rick Switzer will head to New Delhi this week to meet Indian trade negotiators. It could mean reprieve for Indian exports that are still facing 50% US tariffs, and more access for American goods into the Indian market. Since the reciprocal tariffs kicked in, India's exports to the US have dropped over 28% as of October. Earlier this week, President Donald Trump also hit out at India for allegedly dumping rice in the US. Neha Poonia reports from New Delhi.
