Vivian Balakrishnan on Singapore’s 'clear stand' against Russia’s invasion of Ukraine
Singapore's position on Russia's invasion of Ukraine remains unchanged. It has taken and must continue to take a “clear stand” that is consistent with its principles and national interests. Foreign Affairs Minister Vivian Balakrishnan reiterated this position in reply to an MP’s questions in Parliament on Monday (May 8). He said Singapore has strongly condemned Russia's invasion of a sovereign country, calling it a “gross violation” of the principles of the United Nations Charter and international law. “The sovereignty, the political independence and the territorial integrity of all countries, big and small, must be respected,” he said.
