Committee of Supply 2026 debate, Day 4: Pritam Singh on review of Employment Act
In parliament on Tuesday (Mar 3), MP Pritam Singh called for the Manpower Minister to share the deliberations made on the Employment Act thus far, and if there has been a significant gap in positions between the Ministry of Manpower, the unions and employer organisations such as the Singapore National Employers Federation. He also wanted to know what areas of amendment have been scuttled or deferred to date, in view of divergences in position. He added that moving forward, the government should review its tripartite posture to lean on the side of workers, particularly in today's employment landscape.
