Ministerial statement: Indranee Rajah on conduct of Sylvia Lim and Faisal Manap
In parliament on Tuesday (Jul 7), Leader of the House Indranee Rajah spoke on “unfinished business” relating to the Committee of Privileges’ findings on the conduct of Workers’ Party (WP) leaders Sylvia Lim and Faisal Manap, in the case involving a lie told by former MP Raeesah Khan in 2021. Ms Indranee said that although the committee’s findings have now been confirmed by the High Court judgment on WP chief Pritam Singh, any action under the Parliament (Privileges, Immunities and Powers) Act (PPIPA) must be taken within certain timelines, which have now passed. She concluded that no further action need be taken and unless there were any objections, the matter would be brought to a close.
