Fadli Fawzi on Land Transport and Related Matters Bill

12:05 Min

The government needs to address the underlying problems and develop a more compassionate vision of mobility in Singapore, said MP Fadli Fawzi. Speaking in parliament on Tuesday (Feb 3), he stressed the need to address the structural gaps that drive people to rely on mobility devices. This means investing in better neighbourhood connectivity, as well as more responsive public transport planning and infrastructure that reflect and facilitate how people move around, he added. Improving public transport links, including boosting capacity for last-mile connectivity, must be a priority, he said. He urged the government offer seed funding to pilot community bus shuttles around neighbourhoods that are underserved by the public transport network.
