Alvin Tan on disputes relating to health insurance claims handled by FIDReC
Between 2022 and 2024, the Financial Industry Disputes Resolution Centre (FIDReC) completed an average of 246 annual mediation and adjudication claims related to disputes on insurance claim liability and amounts awarded. Of these, an average of 95 were health insurance claims. Independent assessors ruled in favour of the policyholders in four per cent of the health insurance claims. Minister of State and board member of the Monetary Authority of Singapore Alvin Tan said this in reply to an MP’s questions in parliament on Wednesday (Feb 4).
