David Hoe on Online Safety (Relief and Accountability) Bill

The Online Safety (Relief and Accountability) Bill gives Singapore a strong framework but to make online safety real, it must be paired with speed, prevention and accessibility, said MP David Hoe. Speaking in parliament on Wednesday (Nov 5), he pointed out that it would go some way in deterring perpetrators of online harm and giving victims a much clearer route of recourse. He wanted to know if service standards could be set for targeted response time for various categories of online harm by severity. He also stressed the need to ensure that the process of online harm reporting is kept simple, multilingual and accessible.
