Wan Rizal on SkillsFuture Singapore Agency and Skills Development Levy amendment bills
Enhancing SkillsFuture Singapore’s regulatory powers against funding abuse and misleading advertising is a welcome move, said MP Wan Rizal in Parliament on Tuesday (Jan 10). However, he raised concerns about the potentially disproportionate impact on small businesses or organisations, which might then be discouraged from taking part in training programmes. He also cited the need for clarity, transparency and accountability in the enforcement process and suggested setting up an independent body to review and approve such actions.
