White Paper on Singapore Women’s Development: Cheng Li Hui on raising elective egg freezing age limit
The proposal to legalise elective egg freezing for women aged 21 to 35, regardless of marital status, is an "incredibly important" development for women, said MP Cheng Li Hui. Speaking in Parliament on Tuesday (Apr 5), she said that while she is delighted with the proposed recommendation, most women really only think of egg freezing when they are in their 30s. She suggested having more discussions on the age limit and finetuning the legislation. Her proposal - raise the age limit to 40 years old.
