Yeo Wan Ling on Retirement and Re-employment (Amendment) Bill and Central Provident Fund (Amendment) Bill
The automatic top-up for the Retirement Account and simplifying the language of the law will make the Central Provident Fund system more user-friendly and approachable, said MP Yeo Wan Ling. Speaking in Parliament on Monday (Nov 1), she raised concerns on the new definition of "significant conditions" and highlighted how the ambiguity may exclude existing beneficiaries. Turning to the Retirement and Re-employment (Amendment) Bill, she said that raising the retirement age may not necessarily translate to higher employment of seniors. She called on the Government to provide greater support and better career guidance to older workers to extend their job lifespan.
