For the first time in recent years, scam cases in Singapore have fallen. In 2025, cases dropped 27.6 per cent from 51,501 to 37,308, while total losses declined 17.9 per cent to 913 million dollars. But the picture is mixed. Investment scams still led losses at 336 million dollars, and government officials impersonation scams surged 123.6 per cent to 3,363 cases. So what’s behind the overall decline and why are some scams still rising? Daniel Martin speaks with Ian Lim, CXO Advisor for Cisco.
