Arabs & Armenians

Between the Lines

Beyond Singapore’s main ethnic groups of Chinese, Malays and Indians, there are many smaller groups who have been part of our rich cultural heritage going back to the 1800s. As Singapore celebrates her bicentennial, we look at four such communities – the Arabs, Parsis, Jews and Armenians – who form a tiny but important part of our vibrant mosaic. The series will provide a peek inside the lives of eight individuals, showcasing how they have integrated into Singapore society while still preserving their own cultural identity.
