Households can donate unused 2023 CDC vouchers to charity from Dec 1

SINGAPORE: Singaporean households can donate their unspent Community Development Council (CDC) vouchers from Dec 1 this year until Jan 31, 2024.

The donated vouchers will go towards the household's charity of choice, said Minister for Culture, Community and Youth Edwin Tong on Monday (Nov 27).

Mr Tong added that about S$1.19 million worth of CDC vouchers from 2021 and 2022 were donated to 245 charities during a similar exercise last year.

About 9,880 households donated their unused vouchers during the drive, which ran from Dec 20, 2022 to Jan 31, 2023.

Mr Tong announced this year's donation drive during a CDC networking luncheon at the People's Association Auditorium, where about 300 guests from various charity organisations were present.

Similar to last year, Singaporean households can donate their unspent vouchers at vouchers.cdc.gov.sg, said the CDC in a press release on Monday.

Households will be able to select their preferred charity, and will need to login via Singpass to make the donation. 

Mr Tong said that as of early November, about 99 per cent of Singaporean households have claimed their CDC Vouchers this year. Of these, 88 per cent have spent the vouchers at participating hawkers, heartland merchants and supermarkets.

This year, each Singaporean household received S$300 in CDC vouchers - S$150 for use at supermarkets, while the other S$150 for use at participating hawkers and heartland merchants.

Households will be receiving S$500 in CDC vouchers next year.

Half of the vouchers can be spent at supermarkets and the other S$250 can be spent at participating hawkers and heartland merchants.

CDC said in its press release that more details on the CDC voucher scheme 2024 will be announced in due course.
