PCF principals charged with criminal breach of trust

SINGAPORE — The principals of two PAP Community Foundation centres have been hauled to court for misappropriating cash amounting to almost S$100,000.
Bavani V R Kumaran was on Tuesday (Feb 23) charged with two counts of criminal breach of trust while being employed as the principal of PCF Sparkletots Preschool at Block 644, Ang Mo Kio Avenue 4.
Court documents showed that between Jan 3, 2014 and October 30 last year, Bavani, 39, had allegedly misappropriated S$13,540 of cash belonging to someone named Ong Choo Huay by converting the money for personal use.
On Monday, Koh Anna alias Koh Susie, 53, was charged with four counts of the same offence, for misappropriating some S$79,200 of cash that belongs to the PCF Centre at Block 515, Jurong West Street 52, in her capacity as the centre’s principal.
Court documents showed that the alleged offences were committed between August and November 2010, between February and December 2011, between January and December 2012, and July 2013.
Bavani will be back in court on March 22, while Koh has a pretrial conference scheduled for March 24. If found guilty of criminal breach of trust, they could be jailed up to 15 years and fined for each charge.
