Of the 33 men and three women arrested, 11 men aged between 26 and 40 will be charged on Tuesday for offences under the Remote Gambling Act 2014.

Investigations against the remaining suspects are ongoing.

Commenting on the enforcement actions, Director of the Criminal Investigation Department Florence Chua said the police have “zero tolerance” against those involved in unlawful remote gambling activities.

She said that the police take a serious view against such illegal activities and warned that they will continue to take tough enforcement actions against those who flout the law, and "deprive them of their ill-gotten gains".

Under the Remote Gambling Act 2014, any person found guilty of providing unlawful remote gambling services could be jailed for up to five years or fined a maximum of S$200,000, or both.
