Jamus Lim appointed Workers' Party youth wing president in new CEC appointments
Mr Fadli Fawzi, a lawyer who was one of Workers' Party's candidates in Marine Parade GRC in the last General Election, was co-opted into the party's Central Executive Committee.
SINGAPORE: The Workers' Party (WP) on Wednesday (Jul 17) announced its Central Executive Committee (CEC) positions, with Associate Professor Jamus Lim appointed as the president of its youth wing.
Former senior member Nicole Seah was the youth wing president until she resigned from the party in 2023 over an extramarital affair with another senior member, Mr Leon Perera.
The party's deputy treasurer Nathaniel Koh was named youth wing president after Ms Seah's resignation.
Mr Perera, who was the head of the media team, also resigned after the affair came to light.Â
After Mr Perera's departure, Mr Louis Chua was appointed as head of the media team. Former Punggol East SMC MP Lee Li Lian has taken over Mr Chua's previous position as deputy head of media.
WP said in a media statement that its CEC met on Tuesday and approved the appointments.
An additional member, Mr Fadli Fawzi, was co-opted into the CEC. Mr Fawzi, a lawyer and previously an Islamic Religious Council of Singapore executive, was a WP candidate in Marine Parade GRC in the last General Election in 2020.

Deputy head, policy research: Assoc Prof Jamus Lim
Youth wing president: Assoc Prof Jamus Lim
The team had a cadre members conference on Jun 30, where 14 members were voted into the CEC, which is the party’s top decision-making body.
Mr Pritam Singh was re-elected as secretary-general and Ms Sylvia Lim as party chair. Ex-WP chief Low Thia Khiang remains a member of the CEC.
