08:57 Min

Over the past three years, Singapore’s Economic Development Board (EDB) attracted investments which created about 54,000 jobs across fields such as production, digital, business services and innovation. Most of those were good-paying jobs filled by Singaporeans and there are ongoing efforts to keep building up the pool of local talent, said Minister of State for Trade and Industry Alvin Tan. He said the profile of investments in Singapore has been moving towards higher value-added and innovation-focused activities, such as in semiconductor and biomedical manufacturing. EDB expects to attract more investments in advanced manufacturing, the digital economy and the green economy in the coming years. Mr Tan was responding to MPs’ questions in Parliament on Monday (Feb 14).
