Baey Yam Keng on enforcement action against active mobility device riders
The Land Transport Authority (LTA) will, if necessary, deploy enforcement officers to tackle "egregious" active mobility offences committed on alternative crossings when footpaths are affected by infrastructure works. However, enforcement alone will not prevent errant behaviour, said Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Transport Baey Yam Keng. In response to Parliamentary questions on Tuesday (Feb 15), he said LTA has been deploying more enforcement officers to look out for errant riders on the paths affected by the North-South Corridor works. He stressed that path safety is a "collective responsibility" and urged all users to play their part to use shared spaces in a responsible manner.
