13:26 Min

Singapore’s approach to uplifting lower-wage workers has never relied on a single measure but on a comprehensive suite of interventions, such as the Progressive Wage Model, said MP Mohd Fahmi Aliman. Speaking in parliament on Thursday (Feb 27), he highlighted three areas to focus on to better protect workers and ensure sustainable and inclusive wage growth for lower-wage workers. Firstly, enhance Workfare to boost retirement adequacy for older lower-wage workers. Secondly, improve working conditions for lower-wage workers, especially outsourced workers. Thirdly, empower workers via M3’s fourth focus area.
