Budget 2025: New Large Families Scheme to support couples with 3 or more children
At Budget 2025, Singapore Prime Minister and Finance Minister Lawrence Wong announced a new Large Families Scheme to support married couples who have or want to have three or more children. This comprises a S$5,000 increase in the Child Development Account First Step Grant for each third and subsequent child born from Feb 18, 2025 onwards. It will also include a new S$5,000 Large Family MediSave Grant to be disbursed into the mother’s MediSave account for each third and subsequent child born from Feb 18 onwards. And S$1,000 worth of LifeSG credits will be disbursed annually to families for each of their third and subsequent children, during the years that the child turns one to six.
