Business owners hope for Kampong Gelam to qualify as Business Improvement District

Businesses and property owners in Kampong Gelam are joining hands to have a greater say over how the historic precinct is managed. They are aiming to qualify as a Business Improvement District, which allows them to pool resources to enhance public spaces and draw in footfall. About one in 10 business owners is part of the Kampong Gelam Alliance pushing for ideas such as pushcarts selling food. Rachel Teng reports.
