Chee Hong Tat on illegal discharge of oil by ships
The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore inspects ships regularly to ensure that their compliance with international regulations, including the prevention of pollution from ships. It has not detected incidents involving ships deliberately and illegally discharging oil from their engine room in the last five years. Senior Minister of State for Transport Chee Hong Tat said this in reply to an MP’s questions in Parliament on Tuesday (May 9).
