Student care centres can play a crucial role in ensuring that students from disadvantaged families get additional support for their well-being, said MP Don Wee in Parliament on Wednesday (Mar 3). He asked if all underprivileged families whose children apply for places in student care centres are admitted and whether they can be given priority for places at their own schools. He also suggested that dinners be provided for the children to minimise food insecurity.
