Committee of Supply 2022 debate, Day 2: Vikram Nair on access to justice and enforcement of foreign custody orders
Access to justice is an important issue, said MP Vikram Nair. Speaking in Parliament on Thursday (Mar 3), he said more can be done in the area of domestic litigation, for those who do not qualify for legal aid but who may still lack the resources for an expensive long-drawn suit. He also touched on the difficulties in enforcing custody orders or maintenance orders from a foreign court and wanted to know if the Ministry of Law would consider making it easier to enforce such orders.
