As not all trade associations and chambers (TACs) are the same, would the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) consider introducing standard certification for TACs? NMP Raj Joshua Thomas, who asked this question in Parliament on Tuesday (Feb 28), said this could encourage TACs to level up in a structured manner. He said it would also help other tripartite partners identify TACs that can play a bigger role in industry transformation. He also asked if MTI would consider merging the Singapore Business Federation and Singapore National Employers Federation to have a unitary national-level body representing businesses at tripartite and other forums.
