Committee of Supply 2023 debate, Day 5: Mariam Jaafar on unlocking the resale market and helping seniors to monetise their flats

In Parliament on Thursday (Mar 2), MP Mariam Jaafar raised concerns with the impact of housing grants on the prices of HDB flats in the resale market. She wanted to know if the Ministry of National Development could consider further measures to unlock the supply in the resale market, such as requiring HDB flat owners who buy private property to sell their flats. She also asked for an update on the schemes to help seniors monetise their flats.
