Committee of Supply 2023 debate, Day 5: Nadia Ahmad Samdin on URA's Long-Term Plan Review and citizen engagement for heritage sites
In Parliament on Thursday (Mar 2), MP Nadia Ahmad Samdin asked the Ministry of National Development for an update on the key findings of the Urban Redevelopment Authority’s (URA) Long-Term Plan Review and how the feedback gathered will feature in Singapore’s future land use plans. Noting that the building of human-centric recreational activities requires careful scrutiny and planning to avoid destroying habitats, she wanted to know the principles URA uses to decide on development and conservation. She also asked NParks for an update on the City in Nature movement. She wanted to know the insights and observations gleaned from the public and stakeholders as part of the Kampong Gelam Citizen Engagement Project.
