Committee of Supply 2024 debate, Day 1: Yip Hon Weng on better service delivery for residents
As Singapore navigates an increasingly complex future, residents' needs will grow even more diverse and interconnected. We can no longer expect Singaporeans to navigate bureaucratic silos, going from agency to agency to access essential assistance for multiple needs which are in fact interconnected, said MP Yip Hon Weng in Parliament on Wednesday (Feb 28). He added that a holistic approach where services revolve around residents is not just a vision but a necessity today, and asked the Minister to provide an update on the progress and impact of the ServiceSG and Municipal Services Office initiatives. He also asked for an update on the Government’s broader roadmap for further integrating and streamlining citizens’ access to services. He also wanted to know what are the plans to expand physical service counters for seniors and individuals who lack digital literacy.
