Committee of Supply 2024 debate, Day 3: Darryl David on subject-based banding
In Parliament on Friday (Mar 1), MP Darryl David asked for an update on subject-based banding (SBB) and how it could continue in the future. After being piloted in some secondary schools since 2020, full SBB is being rolled out progressively to more schools from 2022 to 2024. Mr David said it gives students the flexibility to take different subjects at different levels based on their interests and strengths, allows for customised learning and reduces the stigma previously linked to streaming.
