Studies have found a positive correlation between family involvement and student success, regardless of the family's socioeconomic status, said MP Denise Phua in Parliament on Monday (Mar 4). She requested the Ministry of Education to provide an update on the progress of parent support groups over the years, the role of the Community and Parents in Support of Schools (COMPASS) advisory panel, as well as strategies for harnessing parents’ energy to strengthen the education system as a whole.
