Committee of Supply 2024 debate, Day 6: Ng Ling Ling on engaging the community in social services
The Enabling Services Hub was a new initiative last year to bring social services and employment opportunities closer to people with disabilities and their caregivers. Welcoming the move in Parliament on Wednesday (Mar 6), MP Ng Ling Ling said more can be done to involve corporate and community partners. She asked how this can be better coordinated and expanded to ensure adequate resources across the country. She also called for more efforts to get young corporate executives to serve on the boards of social service agencies “to inject new ideas and activism”.
