The ubiquitous influence of social media has shaped interactions and discussions on every conceivable topic and issue, including a country’s foreign policy, said MP Poh Li San. She said Singaporeans must always be reminded to keep a balanced perspective, and be open to and tolerant of different views and interpretations. Ms Poh asked how the government will strengthen domestic buy-in and support for Singapore’s foreign policy, and how it can strike a balance between maintaining a cohesive national position while acknowledging the diversity of opinions among Singaporeans on international issues. She spoke in parliament on Monday (Mar 3).
